Shannon

Business Manager
Hi, I'm Shannon, and I am the Business Manager at PCD.

I have been in the dental field for about 8 years. I am a people person and enjoy connecting with and helping people on a personal level. What I love best about my job is the way a positive experience in the dental office can change a person's life.

When I am not in the office I enjoy spending time with my family. We love to take our RV and spend time at the beach, fishing, camping, riding four-wheelers, and bikes. Anything that can get our kiddos out of the house and off electronics!

Some fun facts about me are my favorite Cartoon as a child was Heman and Carebears.
My favorite show at the moment would have to be Yellow Stone or below deck.
We have 5 children, 4 boys, and 1 girl.
I am crazy afraid of spiders!
If I wasn't a parent or working in the dental field I think I would live/work on a boat and travel the world.

Dania

Office Manager
My name is Dania and I am the Office Manager. I help wherever I can and I love supporting my team.

I've been in the dental field for 23 years now. I love working with families and enjoy seeing many of our patients at community events around Portland and my sons' school. Kids love telling me about their brushing habits or a tooth they recently lost. It's the cutest

I love spending time with my husband and two sons. We love eating out, watching movies, going crabbing, clamming, tide pooling and jamming to good music.

Some fun facts about me are I love 1980's and 90's movies and music! My brothers, sisters and I can have full conversations with movie quotes. Now that my boys are getting older, I'm super excited about watching some of my old faves with them.

Joanne

Dental Hygienist
Hi! My name is Joanne and I am a dental hygienist here at Portland Children's Dentistry.

I graduated from Clark College Dental hygiene program in 2012 and have been working as a hygienist since. I have always loved working with children and enjoy being able to help create a positive experience for kids in the dental office so they can be comfortable and confident patients. I also love answering questions and helping kids develop effective home care skills.

I stay busy outside the office as well! My partner Tyler and I have been together over ten years and live in Vancouver, WA with our two dogs, Ziggs and Sona, and cat, Tibbers. We enjoy having friends over to play board games together.

I love crafting including crocheting and quilting. To stay active I have been training in jiu jitsu, earning my blue belt in 2019. My dog Sona and I have taken many training classes and love to work on nose work skills where she sniffs out scents that I hide around the house or yard.

Liz

Dental assistant
Hello, my name is Liz and I'm a Dental assistant here at Portland Children's Dentistry.

I have been a pediatric dental assistant for almost 13 years. I absolutely love working with Kids, and especially enjoy providing the more cautious patients with a fun positive dental experience.

My most favorite things to do when I'm not working are traveling, painting with oils and acrylics, and playing bass guitar. I also love riding horses and spending time in the Columbia River gorge with my family!

Some fun facts about me are I was born in Vietnam and was adopted when I was 6 months old. I have lived in Portland ever since, and have a teenage son.

Hello, my name is Cristina and I am a dental assistant.

I have been a dental assistant for 7 years. I love helping kids feel safe and comfortable even when they're scared.Changing their anxieties and fear about going to the dentist is my goal.

When I'm not at work I enjoy crafting, taking road trips and doing puzzles.

Some fun facts about me are I am half German, I can cook German food, I am the mother of three children, and I love everything Disney and Disneyland related.

Patient Care Coordinator
Hi my name is Dawn and I'm the patient care coordinator here at Portland Children's Dentistry.

I am going on 25 years in the dental field. I've always worked in the pediatric dental field. It is so rewarding to see kids come in anxious and scared and leave with a smile and a feeling of accomplishment.

When I'm not here at work I love spending time with family the most. We enjoy traveling and exploring new places, movie nights out with friends, and cozy nights at home.

A fun fact about me is that I grew up in a small town in eastern Washington. Most of my family owned farms and I love horseback riding but we also spent time on the Oregon coast so I always thought I would be a Marine Biologist or an Equine veterinarian but here I am in the dental field!

Insurance Specialist
Hi my name is Josue and I'm the insurance specialist for Portland Children's Dentistry.

I've been in the dental field for 4 years. I love working in dentistry because growing up my family couldn't afford to go to the dentist when we needed to. Now I love that I can serve my community by helping our patients when they are in need.

When I'm not working I enjoy working out, cooking, going on hilkes and creating some awesome oil paintings.

Some fun facts about me are that I have a Youtube cooking channel and my favorite cartoons to watch when I was young was Static shock, Arthur, and Jackie Chan adventures.

Melissa

Social Media and Marketing Manager
Hey there my name is Melissa and I am the social media and marketing manager here at Portland Children's Dentistry.

I have worked exclusively as a pediatric dental assistant for over 21 years. Seeing a child leave the office with a sense of accomplishment is what I live for. I transitioned from dental assisting to the front office and now to the marketing side but I still am passionate about providing dental care.

When I am not working I run a DIY and crafting blog, an Etsy shop, and a Youtube channel. I enjoy traveling around the world, spending time with family and friends, renovating my mid-century modern house, eating yummy food, and generally participating in shenanigans.

Some fun facts about me are that I was/am Portland Children's Dentistry's first employee. I have three sisters and 9 nieces and nephews. My favorite cartoons growing up were the Transformers, CareBears, Rainbow bright, and anything Disney. I am more than half German, my mother was born and raised there. I have spent almost five years collectively in Germany. I am married to my high school sweetheart for over 21 years. I speak German fluently, Cambodian conversationally, and I know most dental terminology in Russian.

I'm Janelle and I work as a Dental assistant and in the front office.

I've been working in dental for 8 years now! I love working with children and making their dental experience fun and enjoyable.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, traveling, drawing, yoga, photography, music.
Spending time with my nieces and family, exploring around Portland with my friends, weekend getaways and road trips, traveling and meeting new people

Fun facts about me are I love boxing, ATV riding, and realism drawing , and my favorite cartoon is Spongebob.

I have worked in the dental industry for 12 years. I enjoy helping patients overcome their fears of the dentist.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy outdoor activities and creating clothing and accessories to sell.

Salita

Patient Care Coordinator
Hi, my name is Salita and I am a patient care coordinator at Portland Childrens Dentistry.

I have been in the dental field for a total of four years. I started an orthodontics when I was 19 and moved to pediatrics in 2022.

I love providing a memorable experience for patients and their families. My goal is to help in anyway I can to have families and patients leave with the most positive experience possible.

When I’m not at the office, I love hiking and backpacking. I love planting plants and I love experiencing new places and things in and around the Portland area.

Some fun facts about me or that my sister Salina works here as well at Portland Childrens Dentistry as a dental assistant. I served as a United States Marine for four years. And I enjoy water activities, such as surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, and wakeboarding.

Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Hello! My name is Bel, and I am an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. I got started in the dental field in high school! I went to Benson Polytechnic high school right here in Portland. Benson had majors similar to a college, for my Junior and Senior year I was part of the dental assisting major. I mainly focused on pediatric offices, assisting and shadowing throughout Portland. I won an award at Health Occupations Students of America for my dental assisting which was such an amazing opportunity to have! Out of high school, while waiting for classes to start, I went on to work as a co-teacher at a preschool so I could get more time with kids! I have been involved in the dental field for over 3 years and I’m loving every minute of it.

For fun I enjoy gardening, I am right now focused on growing my own food! I’m always repotting something, or finding more spaces for my plants to take over. Otherwise I am working on some project around my home, tinkering away. You’ll find me thrifting, or hanging out with loved ones whenever I find the time.

Hi my name is Katie I’ve been in the dental field for the last 2 1/2. I I attended dental assisting school during Covid in 2020. I love helping patients with their oral health and also overcoming their fears.

I love going camping, wakeboarding, boating, hiking, yoga, meditation playing pool, and hanging with my fiancé and our dogs Zero.

A fun fact about me is I love to go running. I’ve run several half marathons. I am allergic to avocados in watermelon. I studied art in college and used to teach digital art at my high school in San Diego California.

Hartley

Patient Care Coordinator
I’ve been in the dental field for the past 1 1/2 years. I love that no day is similar. I really enjoy working with kids. They all have so many different personalities and I enjoy connecting with them.

When I’m not working, you can find me with my husband exploring the Oregon fishing, hiking camping, and spending time at home with my cat Dutty and my dog Bennet. I enjoy wedding floral design and road trips.

Some fun facts about me is I grew up Texas. I rode Arabian horses for over 15 years. My favorite shows are Yellow stone, Below Deck, and How I met your mother. I always thought I'd be a marine biologist and study Orca whales or be a nurse.

Lindsay

Dental Assistant
Hi there my name is Lindsay. I’ve been around for 36 years and seven of those years I’ve been a pediatric dental assistant. I really really love kids and I enjoy being around families and educating them about dental health.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me at home being a mom to my 13-year-old son and a three-year-old wild child. We love to have a movie night, go swimming, and other various activities.

The fun fact about me is, I am a food connoisseur, a.k.a. a lover of food. I love going out and trying new places. I was born and raised in Alaska and I love to clean.
