"We have been seeing Dr. Patty for two years now. My kids were both very shy and nervous with new people. Each of the hygienist and has been kind, patient, caring and very good with kids. M Dr. Patty is knowledgeable and does what she can to avoid unnecessary work on your little one. She stresses the importance of ensuring that the child has a positive experience, so that they are willing to come in the future. Both of my kids used to be nervous to go to the dentist. "We have been seeing Dr. Patty since my twins were 2 years old. I would not take them anywhere else. My child dentist experience was awful so I did a lot of research to find the perfect place for my kiddos. It is night and day from my experience as a child. The staff is so friendly, approachable and always run on time. The clinic is seriously the cleanest I’ve ever seen and I work in Medicine. My kids would tell you their favorite part are the balloons, cavity free photo and pick your own toy at the end of the visit!! You will be in good hands if you choose this office. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, he answered all my questions about my child's insurance. Even though I'm clueless when it comes to insurances he was able to untangle my confusion. "Absolutely best children’s dentist office!!! Not just the dentist but the ENTIRE staff!! Dental assistants helped out by keeping up with my 2 year old while Dr Patty discussed our options and he explored the office from one end to the other, the office is designed to keep the children busy with appropriate entertainment, 2 convenient locations. They’re so friendly, fun, easy going (when my 2 year old was running around a lot), and super helpful when I was having trouble figuring out insurance. "The entire office team stayed an hour late to wait with my son and me for an Uber to return for my cellphone that I left in his car accidentally. One of the receptionists even went as far as too communicate with the man directly (and bother him for me!), respectfully of course, in order to get him to return. Kindness like this doesn't come often, and it truly shows the family-like environment that the people who work here provide, whether that be the dentist, dental assistant (who also gave great advice for caring for my son), and now the front office team. "I am absolutely blown away by this office. My son is 6 and this is his 3rd pediatric office. Up until today he would barely sit in the dental chair and wouldn't allow any treatment. Today he met Lisa and everything changed. He leaned back in the chair, got his teeth polished, got x-rays and a proper exam by Dr. Patty who was equally amazing. I am still in shock. "Brought our two-year old daughter to her first dentist appointment. Sooo pleased with Portland Children's Dentistry from the moment we called. Staff were helpful on the phone with scheduling and rescheduling our appointment. We filled out all of our forms online which made for a easy and smooth visit once we arrived at the office. The office is located in a great location with access to parking. Upon walking in, we were greeted with smiles. The office is clean, airy and bright. There is a (clean!) area for kids to play, and a hideout for kids to watch movies. Felt much more like a cool clubhouse than a dentist office. Dany was an allstar with acclimating our daughter to sitting on the dental chair, allowing her to put a foreign toothbrush (with a head that spins) in her mouth, opening wide, etc. They gave out a bright colorful balloon, she got her picture taken for the No Cavity Club, and also walked out with a very generous toy from the toy bin that she picked out herself. Dr. Patty was positive, upbeat, and great with patient and parent education (what foods promote good dental hygiene and won't cause cavities, which teeth had come in, which ones remained, what to do about fluoride, etc!). "Absolutely the best in children's dentistry. My daughter (3) was a little nervous for her appointment, but everything about the clinic is warm and inviting. From coffee and large play areas in the lobby to the open and welcoming exam spaces, everything seemed designed with a child in mind. Janelle, our tech, was so wonderful with my daughter. She instantly put her at ease and explained every step in child-centered and age-appropriate language. My daughter was comfortable with her in under 5 minutes! Dr. David is fantastic and had some very helpfuladvice and tips for us to stay cavity-free and spoke about dental health in very approachable terms. "We’ve taken our kids here since our oldest daughter was 1 (now 3.5) and have had such pleasant experiences each time. They work so closely with parents to make sure that the whole appointment is of as little stress to the little ones as possible (even if it means just a quick glance and count of teeth for our 1 year old) and don’t they bill you for for anything excessive if they weren’t able to get in there. Dr. David has such a good rapport with the kids (no experience with Dr. Patty yet, but I’ve only heard good things about her as well) and they hygienists are so patient and attentive to the needs of the little patients. "We love Portland Children's Dental. We've had bad experiences with dentists in the past, so it is wonderful to have the kids finally look forward to their visits! Dr Patty is so friendly and engaging, but also honest and direct. They don't push expensive, optional treatments here, and they offer education and options when decisions need to be made. Our family goes to the Woodstock location, which has a great layout for big families because the exam chairs are in an open area where the kids can all be together. "We just went to Dr. Patty today and I had to rush home to do a review! I'll start by saying she is the dentist other doctors sent their kids to - so she comes highly recommended. Our daughter is 2 and has oral aversion. She was a micropreemie born without enamel on many of her teeth. We were nervous coming in but it was by far the best doctor visit we've ever experienced. Dr Patty spoke with me on the phone beforehand to answer questions and make me comfortable. The lobby is incredibly kid friendly, as are the stations - with TVs and animals and books. The visit was quick but thorough and our daughter immediately got a balloon, to pick out a fun toy and get her photo taken to print and take home. The staff are also very friendly and accommodating. We left with an understanding of our daughter's dental diagnosis and the three-step plan to keep her teeth healthy, with her aversions and realistic steps in mind. "Dr. Patty is truly the most kind, caring, understanding, and most gentle and childrens' dentist in Portland. She has a smile that children (and adults) recognize as genuine. She, and all of the staff are truly exceptional, and unbelievably patient. Both of our children have experienced anxiety with going to the dentist initially, and we feel so fortunate to have discovered this wonderful office. Dr. Patty and her staff are so extremely patient, and they are more than delighted to help your child acclimate to going to the dentist by offering "happy visits." They want nothing more than to help your child have a positive experience in their office. The office itself is beautiful, with a play area, theatre area, and impeccably clean, light-filled, child-oriented rooms. Here, children can watch movies or videos overhead while having cleanings, and dental procedures done. It is just a wonderful office overall, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone who has children. I'm am so happy I found this place! It's honestly the best dentist I have ever been too and I feel lucky that my children get to be seen by such an amazing dentist. Dr. Patty is who sees two of my youngest children (4.5 and almost 2) and she is so great. I feel very comfortable and reassured every time I bring my children into see her. My daughter really likes her as well. The general atmosphere is Great and everybody works so well with children there. My kids love coming to their appointments and it has never been a scary or traumatic experience here. Even with two fillings done in a single visit. It was a breeze! And let me tell you, it was such a huge relief for me. They also have a really great prizes that the kids get to pick out after their visit. Dr. Patty and her team are professional, kind, and friendly. They help explain each step and assure that the child and parent know what is happening along the way. They are high tech and offer kids the chance to watch movies to keep distracted from the procedures and reward them with a large area of toys/prizes and balloons. I can't say enough nice things about PCD. They are SO sweet to my kids, parents of young children themselves so very in tune, very professional and so easy to be around. The Facility is sparkling clean, new, high tech and comfortable in a very convenient spot for being downtown (lots of parking). They make sure your kids are comfortable with what they are doing, if they aren't they won't push it. These guys know what they're doing and it shows. It was a huge problem! After coming to this clinic, she told me she wanted to become a dentist! What?! Both doctors have such a unique approach, which makes children want to come and they can't wait until the next appointment. Dr. Patty and the staff changed everything. Dr. Patty truly cares for our son's teeth as if he were her own son. She brings up concerns and workarounds that NO ONE has ever done. It is clear with every interaction that Dr. Patty's goal is the best dental health for our son. She provides economical solutions every time. To be honest, I wish that she could be my dentist. The office has state of the art equipment for Children dental care. It is very clean and up to the standard I have known in the state of California. The staff is professional, friendly and very helpful. The dentist is very nice and very patient with children. He is also highly knowledgeable. They take a picture at the end of the treatment with Mickey and Mini and offer the child a toy of his choice. My son Aiden had a great time having his teeth checked and thoroughly cleaned and of course taking a picture and getting a toy:). I highly recommend this office for children dental care. -Tila T. I can tell you that David is the sweetest, most caring dentist that you will ever meet. I can say this with unbiased authority because he is my grandson. Dr. David creates a safe environment that allowed my 4 year old daughter Rosie to relax and accept his dental work. Rosie simply needed a cleaning, however she is very shy and can act up. Dr. David help calmly explained to her what was going on, how the cleaning would help her and made her feel understood. Our 18 month old son unfortunately has a bad case of tooth decay. This caused one of his teeth to chip and a lot of worry between my wife and I. We were able to setup a same day, new patient appointment with Dr. Patty and couldn't have been more pleased with our decision. Not only did they make room for us on their schedule with only a few hours notice, they had a fantastic office that made you forget you were even at a dentist appointment. While the news about how bad the decay wasn't what we wanted to hear, Dr. Patty had a wonderful bedside manner and I would recommend anyone with children to this dental office. -James W. I could not be more pleased with my visit! I am a very picky and particular mother when it comes to the care of my son and Dr. Patty and her staff made us feel so comfortable and safe. I went in for a second opinion and received the same treatment plans as I got from another pediatric dentist but Dr. Patty made me feel like what I was doing was ok and she assured me that the choice I made was only mine to make. Went here because of the good reviews and the proximity to our house and we were very much satisfied with everything. we arrived even before their opening hours but we were already attended to. the staff is accommodating, the clinic is very clean, has lots of very appropriate distraction/toys especially for very young active kids. Dr David explained every step of the dental exam, his observations, suggestions for my child with chipped tooth. i loved how honest he can be and at the same time still discuss other options that i might want to consider. will definitely not hesitate entrusting my kid's dental health to them. -Sheryl D. You know that feeling you get when you hope that what you're reading in everyone's reviews is true? That you hope your child's experience is going to be a great one? This office far exceeds your expectations. From the moment you call to schedule the appointment to the moment you walk out holding your child's "No Cavity Club" picture it was flawless. I have seen both doctors (Dr. Patty and Dr. David) and would without any hesitation recommend either of them. The staff is awesome, making you feel welcome as soon as you enter their beautiful office. Parking is easy (and free!) I can't say enough about the approach and individual care that is given to each child. I think this dentist office and their staff is absolutely the most amazing establishment for parents and kids. The office is immaculate and so creative. So warm and friendly. The play area is always super clean, and allows for educational and developmental opportunities. They are wonderful at working with children and making the dentist fun. Since I can remember as a child - the dentist was a scary and sometimes traumatic visit. Portland children's dentistry turns that concept on its head- my daughter looks forward to going to the dentist and seeing Dr. Patty. Each exam room has a theme with decor hanging from the ceiling. Clouds, airplanes, hot air balloons, etc. So much fun. So imaginative. Flat screens on the ceiling with great kid appropriate movies playing. Warm friendly music playing. The bathroom is also sparkling clean and offers a changing table fully stocked with diapers and wipes and has cute quotes on the walls from great characters like the big bad wolf, etcetera. I came in for a cleaning and were told my son had a small cavity that needed to be fixed, The girl Angela at the front desk was so sweet and helpful! Got us checked in so fast, there was no waiting time! My son got comfortable in his chair And met with Dr. David, his almost fluent Russian was very comforting for my son! they got the cartoon and laughing gas going and my son didn't even notice the needles or drilling! Within 10-15 min they were all done! My kids are very excited every time they come here! Great professional Doctors and staff. The atmosphere is beyond kid friendly and bathrooms are clean! I don't usually write reviews, even though I read them. But I just came from my 3-year old's emergency appointment at Portland Children's Dentistry and I felt compelled to share how pleased I was (again) with their services. My 3 year old and 6 year old have been going to PCD for the last year or so, and every time we go the kids truly enjoy their visit. Both the doctors and the rest of the staff have been great, and the facility itself is beautiful. Honestly, if I could I would drink their good coffee and let my kids play in the toy area all morning. I highly recommend Portland Children's Dentistry, and wish them all future success. -Ashley M. This was my daughter's first visit to the dentist. She is 3 and a bit shy. The hygienist was great, took the time to show my daughter all of the tools she would use, put on a show to distract her, and really made sure she was comfortable with everything she was going to do prior to doing it. She asked if it was OK to "Tickle" each of my daughter's teeth with the special brush, and really helped my daughter get comfortable prior to proceeding. The Dr. was great. We saw Dr. Patty, and it was a great experience. My daughter left with no cavities and was talking all the rest of the day about how great the visit was. We had a great first visit with our two year old! I remember being a kid and going to "adult" offices that also do kids care, and I would feel on edge from the moment we walked in. We chose PCD because they set up an environment that caters to kids at every opportunity, and we wanted our son to feel safe and build positive dentist and healthcare experiences (not like the sterile Kaiser rooms where he's stripped down to be weighed on a horizontal scale before getting shots - whose idea was that?!). Once we could pull him away from the train table and past the toy wall (after visit treats), he let Dr. Raphael examine him and model tooth brushing without any fussing. I also learned we were using too much toothpaste (size of a grain of rice, not a pea) and that raisins are no good - I |
